Hey Bird! A studio where community is part of the game
Hundreds of indie games are released every month. Most disappear before players even notice them. A good game is no longer enough. What matters is a world people want to return to – and a story that begins before the player presses Play. Point-and-click adventures have devoted fans. But they rarely create living communities that carry the experience beyond the screen.

Vision

Petr Škorňok and his studio Hey Bird! want to create a game that reaches beyond itself. Inkblood – a dark, hand-drawn point-and-click adventure – is not just a story to follow. It is an experience built around a fictional internet cult that works as part of the game mechanic. Hey Bird! is not just trying to sell a game. It is building a community that exists alongside the fictional universe.

Gamechanger

Inkblood works within the point-and-click genre, but adds something unusual: a community mechanic in the form of an internet cult. Players do not merely observe the story. They can become part of something that extends beyond the game itself. The visual language is deliberately dark, handcrafted and instantly recognisable. Hey Bird! is not trying to blend into what players already know. And it is not trying to appeal to everyone.

Who is it for?

For players who want more than entertainment. For people who enjoy immersive worlds, alternate reality games, fan theories and stories that stay alive long after the computer is turned off. For those drawn to dark aesthetics, slow gaming and strong narrative experiences.

What has worked so far?

When Hey Bird! announced Inkblood, they did not run a standard marketing campaign. Every asset was filled with hidden symbols, turning viewers into players from the start. The Discord server grew from zero to 1.5 thousand active members overnight. Five months after the announcement, Inkblood has nearly 50 thousand wishlists on Steam and several million views on Instagram.
Petr is looking for a Community Manager for an internet cult. If fan theories, games, pop culture and communities with a life of their own sound like your world, get in touch with him.
