Rocketas: Why wait months for your own numbers?

“Businesses are missing information.” That is how Jakub Kaláb from Rocketas opened his pitch at the September Velvet Innovation Meetup. According to Jakub, around 85 per cent of Czech companies and founders still make decisions mainly from their bank balance or from accounting reports that arrive one, two or even three months after the fact. By then, the business has already moved on.

Vision

Bring financial information closer to the moment when decisions are actually made. Instead of looking backwards once the accounting period is over, founders and owners should be able to see what is happening in their business while there is still time to act.

Gamechanger

Rocketas approaches accounting as a data problem. Its systems bring information together in one place and use it to build reporting, automation and notifications for the people running the business. Jakub highlighted two questions that matter most: Where is the company making or losing money? And what does its cash runway look like over the coming weeks and months? The interesting shift is not simply faster accounting. It is turning accounting data into something that can support day-to-day decisions.

Founders, owners and C-level teams who want to manage their business with data, but do not have the information they need at the right time or in the right place.

What has worked so far?

Rocketas has been operating for around a year. During that time, the team has taken on approximately 40 clients and built the first version of its reporting ecosystem. They are now developing the second version.
