Opticors: Software for Faster Structural Design
Construction is facing a clear bottleneck. There are more prefab manufacturing plants than structural engineers able to design for them. And engineers who can design truly optimally are even rarer. Architects, developers, and general contractors all feel it – everyone needs a structural engineer, and everyone is waiting.

Vision

Opticors wants a solid structural design to never again take weeks or months to get. The calculation should not be the bottleneck of a project, nor a source of endless back and forth between architect and engineer.

Gamechanger

Opticors is software that takes a handful of input parameters and automatically designs a prefabricated load-bearing structure, runs the structural assessment, and optimises the elements for the most cost-effective solution. As founder Boris Krchňák put it on stage: "A secondary school graduate will not design it like a secondary school graduate. The software will help them design it like an engineer with twenty years of experience." And instead of days or months, the design is ready in minutes.

Who is it for?

For architects, structural engineers, developers, and general contractors – anyone currently stuck in the queue for a structural assessment. The software can also estimate the realisation price of a structure already at the study stage, so developers and contractors know exactly what they are building for.

What has worked so far?

Opticors is wrapping up its testing phase and launches full operation of the first autonomous structural engineer in June. Most companies that took part in testing – among them Strabag, Metrostav, Porr, and Prefa Praha – are moving straight into full operation.
Opticors is looking for construction companies, prefab manufacturers, and general contractors who want to design, digitalise, and win contracts faster – with realisation documentation ready to go.
