Velvet Innovation returns on 2–3 June 2027 in a new format. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
When and where does it take place?
On 2 and 3 June 2027 in Brno, around the Vaňkovka area. The opening half-day runs on a single stage; on the second day, the event spreads across several venues within walking distance of each other. Exact addresses and directions will be published together with the programme.
Why is there no event in 2026?
After five editions, we rebuilt the event from the ground up – it is longer, bigger and structured differently. We are dedicating 2026 to preparation. We have also moved it from November to June so that part of the programme can take place outdoors.
What is changing compared to previous editions?
A half-day conference in a single hall is becoming a day-and-a-half event across several venues.
The opening half-day is the conference part: one stage, the strongest names, big themes and evening networking.
The second day is the festival part: parallel programme across several stages, hands-on formats, a startup showcase and an outdoor stage with the closing programme and afterparty.
And what stays the same?
The reason people come to Velvet Innovation. Networking that makes it easy to reach the people you need to meet. Speakers you won’t see at every conference. An atmosphere where nobody pretends to be something they are not.
Is it for me?
The event brings together founders of technology companies, management from mid-sized and large companies, investors, researchers and academics, and people from the public and non-profit sectors. In previous editions, roughly three quarters of attendees came from business.
If you have research or an idea and aren’t sure what to do with it next, the event is built for you too. Part of the second day focuses on the path from research or an idea to real-world application – no business experience required.
What language is the programme in?
Most of the programme is in English with Czech translation. Some workshops for smaller groups may be held in Czech.
When do tickets go on sale?
Early bird tickets launch in January 2027 in limited numbers. Leave us your email and you’ll be the first to know.
How much will a ticket cost?
Pricing will be published when sales open. We will offer a two-day ticket, a second-day-only ticket, and a discounted ticket for startups and students.
When will the programme be announced?
We will be announcing confirmed speakers and the themes of individual stages gradually over winter 2026. The full schedule will be published roughly a month before the event.
