Michal is the co-founder of CHYBIK + KRISTOF Architects, a studio specializing in urban transformation and architecture. The studio has branches in London, Prague, Brno, and Bratislava.
Michal Krištof studied at the Brno University of Technology and Sint-Lucas University in Ghent. He gained experience working at the Bjarke Ingels Group studio in Copenhagen. He has been a guest lecturer at universities such as the Faculty of Architecture at the Brno University of Technology and the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec, and is actively involved in contemporary architectural discourse. Michal has also been a guest lecturer and critic at institutions such as the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Cornell University, and Politecnico di Milano. He has served as a judge in national and international architectural competitions and is a founding member of the National Council of the Urban Land Institute in the Czech Republic.
Studio CH+K has received numerous awards for architecture and design, including AR Design Vanguard NYC, 40 Under 40 Award, Czech Architecture Award, and a nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Award. Although the studio has only been in existence for 15 years, it has completed more than 1,700 homes in a number of large-scale, mixed-use urban developments, as well as significant cultural buildings and public spaces. The studio's projects have been presented at major architecture festivals, such as the London Festival of Architecture (2024), the Tbilisi Architecture Biennial (2020), and the Venice Biennale (2025).
