Krystof Hilar is the co-founder of ThreatMark, a company that protects more than 50 million online banking users from cyber fraud, working with leading banks such as Erste Group and UniCredit. ThreatMark’s technology can detect modern scams (such as fake police or investment schemes) and even distinguish people by how they hold their phone or type on a keyboard.
Krystof describes himself as a hacker & entrepreneur, passionate about solving complex problems with the help of machine learning, reverse engineering, distributed systems, and cryptography.
His cyber journey began in elementary school, when he hacked his classmates and gave a presentation about phishing. The first software he ever sold was a desktop tool that helped classmates get through exams in a more “efficient” way. As a teenager, he got into serious programming, running dozens of popular gaming servers and defending them against cheaters or developing realtime algo-trading strategies.
In 2022, Krystof was named to Forbes 30 Under 30.
