H.E. Mr. David KONECKY is a career diplomat. He has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic since 2002. His diplomatic career has focused on security policy, European and Euro-Atlantic affairs. He served as the Czech Ambassador to the EU Political and Security Committee in Brussels (2013-2017), Director of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy Department in Prague (2011-2013), and Head of the Political Department of the Czech NATO Delegation in Brussels (2005-2011).
Since March 2018, he held the position of Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. In October 2023, he was appointed Director General for Security and Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Since 1 August 2024, he has been serving as Permanent Representative and Head of the Czech Delegation to NATO.
Ambassador Konecky holds a PhD in international economics and foreign policy. He studied international politics and relations at the University of Economics in Prague and Charles University in Prague.

In October 2023, he was appointed Director General for Security and Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Since 1 August 2024, he has been serving as Permanent Representative and Head of the Czech Delegation to NATO.
