What is a Velvet Innovation Meetup?
A regular informal gathering where participants learn about what is currently happening
in the innovation ecosystem of South Moravia. Each meetup starts with an hour where
around 10 innovative projects from the private, public, and academic sectors are quickly presented, followed by
plenty of time for networking. The event is held in various locations, allowing you to explore interesting places and institutions in the region.
We meet every third Thursday of the month at five o'clock, except during the summer and at the end of the year.

Information for Speakers
Your pitch should look like this:
- Introduce your project – What do you do, what problem does your project solve, and why is it important? What stage is it in (e.g., just starting, successfully expanding, etc.).
-
Reveal future plans – What lies ahead for you? What is your next big challenge?
- Call to action – Clearly state where you would appreciate support from other players in the ecosystem (e.g., your company is growing rapidly, and you need an expert with experience in managing fast growth; you are aiming for the US market and would benefit from advice from someone who has already entered it; you are seeking technology partnerships for further development; you are looking for an investor, etc.).
The call to action is an important and integral part of your pitch. It is an invitation to the audience that can open doors for networking and finding relevant contacts. Make the most of this opportunity!
Additional information:
- The event starts at 17:00, and we will meet you at 17:10 by the stage for a brief technical rundown. The program officially starts at 17:30.
- Your pitch must strictly fit within 120 seconds, after which it will be concluded by the moderator.
- A presentation will be displayed on the screen, where you can have one or more slides (no videos). We recommend minimal text and maximum visuals. If you don't need a presentation, your name and the name of your company or project will be displayed behind you.
- After all the pitches, there will be a vote for the best pitch, and the winner will receive a small prize.
- Technical setup: handheld microphone, clicker, timer.
